Did you know that in the first century, Rome rule by Imperial strength and a social caste system so extensive that even a person's garments determined which caste they belong to? Did you know that even in Judea a caste system existed that oppressed the regular Israelite and that this system was established after the Hasmonean conquest? Did you know that Paul's letters are not always directed at issues within Judaism itself? Some of the issues in his letters are trying to bring a contrast between the equity of Elohim and that of Imperial Rome. This teaching will describe how the caste system of Rome worked and how Paul tried to restore honor and break the caste system of Rome by giving the believers a new way in which now YHVH is the great Patron and Yeshua is the broker of the covenant relationship with the Father.
